Benchmark Homes, Inc. is changing the way we think about living by building 100% of our new homes to the high, energy efficient standards of the Energy Star Homes program.

Amid concerns about global climate change and energy costs, Benchmark Homes is the first builder in the Mobile area to “go green” by improving the energy performance of all our homes. We are now beginning construction on our 150th Energy Star home.

Why Energy Star?

ENERGY STAR qualified homes are at least 15 - 30 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 International Residential Code (IRC) and in excess of 30% of the 1993 Model Energy Code.

Our ENERGY STAR homes earn the label only by meeting EPA standards for energy efficiency and only through a third party inspection. Qualified homes save energy through established, reliable building technologies. Builders work with Home Energy Raters to select from a number of features when planning and building homes. Rest assured our Energy Star Certified homes meet some very strict guidelines!

With our NEW “Green Package,” we’re proud to pass savings on to the homebuyer as well as do our part to improve the environment in which we live.
